A musical and fraternal gathering
The Juliol Musical Albuixech, following the approach started in 2025, dedicates the festival's first annual evening to an aplec de bandes — a musical and fraternal gathering between two Societats Musicals.
From a local perspective, the aim is to consolidate this proposal, considering it an extraordinary benefit for our audience and for the musicians of our own band. A luxury showcase to hear the level of our music societies alongside the Eslava.
The Societat Musical d'Alboraia is the second illustrious guest, giving continuity to this new element of the festival. The Ajuntament d'Albuixech, with their participation, intends to strengthen ties with this neighbouring village of l'Horta Nord and to welcome with open arms their talented musical director, our neighbour Dani Olmos.
The culminating moment: both ensembles will play together on the stage of the Plaça de la Llibertat under the direction of Juanba Pérez, performing the pasodoble "Lo Cant del Valencià". This composition by maestro Pedro Sosa will be the everlasting musical symbol — motto of the 2026 edition — sounding each year as a litany of good wishes.
The proposal looks ahead to the year 2028, the year of the 1st Centenary of the Eslava d'Albuixech. The JM 2026 continues the path started in 2025 of bringing each year a band from the most prestigious Societats Musicals of the Community. In this way, every July Albuixech will become a meeting point for the fans and enthusiasts of the band music world.

S.M. d' Alboraia
One of the most deeply rooted cultural pillars of the municipality of Alboraia, with origins dating back to 1885.
The Societat Musical d’Alboraia is officially founded on 28 February 1906, after maestro Miguel Grau began teaching solfège. The first conductor was José Serrano Simeón, favourite pupil of Salvador Giner.
From its earliest years, the Band stood out in competitions and contests: first prize and gold medal at the International Competition City of Valencia in 1974, as well as numerous awards in 1984, 1988, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2008. Conductors of great prestige such as Manuel Galduf or Francisco Hernández Guirado have led the ensemble.
In 2012, the band participated for the first time in the Honour Section of the Valencia Competition, placing 140 musicians on stage. In 2017, it obtained the 3rd Prize in the Honour Section of the International Competition of Valencia. In April 2024, it paraded at Disneyland Paris.
In September 2024 a new chapter began with the incorporation of Daniel Olmos Herrero as conductor. This year the band celebrates its 120th anniversary, maintaining a School with 420 students and 8 ensembles — the main cultural reference of Alboraia.

It began to gain prestige in 1943 at the Civil Band Competition of Valencia. In the 80s, under the direction of Pascual Balaguer Echevarría, it won first prize at the Provincial Competition of Valencia and the Competition of the Comunitat Valenciana, and second at the International Competition of Valencia in consecutive years.
In 1985, under the direction of José Miguel Peñarrocha Arastey, it achieved first prize at the World Music Competition of Kerkrade. The Eslava has returned to this event twice more (1999 and 2017), each time winning first prize.
Conductors of great prestige have led the band, including José Goterris, José Mir, Julio Ribelles, Salvador Seguí, Pascual Balaguer and José Cervera, with the Dutch composer Jeff Penders as guest conductor on occasions.
At the beginning of the 21st century, under the direction of José Suñer Oriola for 17 years, it returned the band to the highest levels in national and international competitions, with notable concerts in Germany, Shanghai and Kerkrade.
With Vicente Ortíz Gimeno (2019), the band became known for its participation in film recordings (“Les bodes de Rosa”, “El substitut”, “El Campió”) and for the International Wind and Brass Music Festival on Jeju Island (South Korea).
Since March 2025, the band has been conducted by Juan Bautista Pérez. The Eslava has a consolidated music school with around 120 students and, since 2022, also the Cor de l’Eslava.
